POSITION SUMMARY
Student Worker – Student Life is an on-ground, part-time position (up to 30 hours per week) reporting to the Director of Student Development and Success. This role supports the co-curricular student experience at TKU by helping plan and run campus events and activities, supporting student clubs, organizations, and leadership programs, and providing day-to-day administrative support to the Student Life office. Working under the direction of Student Development staff, the Student Worker gains hands-on experience in event coordination, student engagement, and ministry-minded service to fellow students. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and relational, and enjoys creating a welcoming campus community. Hired students must be eligible for the Student Worker Program.

Position Specific Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, promoting, and carrying out Student Life events and co-curricular activities under the direction of Student Development staff.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including room reservations, supply lists, setup, and cleanup.
  • Support student clubs and organizations by maintaining club rosters and meeting schedules and helping students through the process of starting a new club.
  • Provide administrative support to The Student Leadership Council, including preparing agendas, taking meeting notes, and tracking follow-up items.
  • Assist with daily operations of the TKU Student Union, keeping the space stocked, organized, and welcoming.
  • Help recruit and schedule student volunteers for Student Development programming such as chapel serve teams, small groups, and the prayer room.
  • Gather student feedback through event surveys and attendance tracking, and compile results for the supervisor.
  • Enter and maintain accurate student and event information in Planning Center Online.
  • Monitor the Student Life email inbox daily, respond to routine inquiries, and forward other requests to the appropriate staff member.
  • Serve as a friendly first point of contact for students visiting or calling the Student Life office.
  • Assist with student communications, including drafting social media posts, event announcements, and weekly student emails for supervisor review, and sharing accurate event details with TKU Marketing.
  • Collect receipts and log event purchases in accordance with TKU accounting procedures, and submit them to the supervisor.
  • Build welcoming relationships with fellow students and connect them with Student Development staff and resources when additional support is needed.
  • Attend Student Development trainings and team meetings as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Eligibility & Education:
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at The King’s University and eligible for the Student Worker Program
  • 3.0 or better cumulative GPA (unofficial transcript required)
  • Two TKU faculty or staff recommendations required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
  • Experience in student leadership, ministry, event planning, volunteering, or customer service preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Planning Center Online and social media platforms is a plus
